Posidonia is a brazilian shipping company focused on coastal and international shipping and offshore operations, and ship management. Posidonia operates its own fleet, as well as chartered vessels, providing taylor-made service to customers.
The company operates in six strategic segments: outfitting, ship management and operation; container feeder transportation; solid and wet bulk transportation; general cargo and auto transportation, and offshore maritime support.
The company boasts a team of professionals with long experience in the industry, and its shareholders include family groups with established track records in the industry.
Alex Navarro Ikonomopoulos
Alex Navarro Ikonomopoulos is the company’s COO. He is in charge of the QSM area, of the operation of ships, and transportation of various cargoes and special projects, such as wind blades and Oil and Gas operations. Greatly experienced in managing and exploring commercial transportation, particularly in Brazil, and an expert in business development between local and foreign companies. Alex holds a degree in International Trade from Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina and is specialized in management operations of shipping companies, risk management, and integrated management systems (ABS). He has worked with container transshipment and ship operations in Brazil and South America since 2003. Prior to that, he had led Kadmos Shipping, a company specializing in the commissioning and representation of ship outfitters.
Felipe Navarro Ikonomopoulos
Posidonia’s financial direction is under Felipe Navarro Ikonomopoulos’s lead. He coordinates the whole finance area, performs assessments and draws up investment plans. He also oversees and controls audits of the company’s transactions. The executive is a Business Administration graduate from PUC (RJ), with an MBA in Finance from IBMEC and a Business Administration certificate from London Business School. Felipe is also certified in international trade, port logistics and financial risk management, amongst other areas. He was Parfina Marítima’s finance manager from 2002 to 2005 and, in 2006, became Kadmos Shipping’s managing partner and director.
Abrahão Salomão is in charge of Posidonia’s general management. The executive leads new business development; coordinates logistics projects; monitors ship building and repair works, in addition to other activities. He is an expert in legal and regulatory practices in the shipping industry, having worked at important law firms for five years. He is a Law graduate from PUC (RJ), with an MBA in Logistics from COPPEAD/UFRJ and extension courses in Finance, Shipmanagement and Chartering in London. He had also held a directorship position with Transnave Navegação for eight years, assisting in the representation of foreign outfitters, in freight negotiation, and in the sale and purchase of ships, both in Brazil and abroad, and and responsible for the financial restructuring and legal.
